Founder & CEO, HighlightStar

Bill Shadorf has spent his career building media businesses at the intersection of culture, audience, and growth. With decades of leadership across broadcast, digital, and entertainment, he is known for scaling revenue, launching category-defining platforms, and turning underperforming operations into sustainable, profitable growth.

He began his career at Infinity Broadcasting, working alongside Mel Karmazin and Howard Stern and collaborating early with Carson Daly and Ryan Seacrest, where he learned firsthand that authenticity, audience trust, and disciplined storytelling drive real impact. He went on to become one of the Hispanic media industry’s most effective growth and turnaround executives, consistently blending cultural relevance with commercial performance.

Across his career, Shadorf has driven $120M+ in revenue growth, built media brands that reshaped their categories, and aligned creative vision with measurable results. HighlightStar exists because the traditional media model no longer serves how culture is created, consumed, or scaled, and Shadorf’s career uniquely spans both worlds. Today, that experience powers a creator-led media ecosystem designed for scale, ownership, and long-term cultural impact.

Harmon Kaslow

President of Motion Pictures Development & Distribution

Harmon Kaslow leads HighlightStar’s motion picture division as President of Motion Pictures Development and Distribution, guiding the strategy for sourcing, developing, and distributing original film content. With over 30 years of movie industry experience, Kaslow is a member of the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and holds 30+ film credits, including collaborations with major talent such as Nicole Kidman, Werner Herzog, and James Franco.

In his role, Mr. Kaslow oversees script acquisitions, project development, securing theatrical distribution, and developing home entertainment strategies. He is also one of the developers of industry-leading distribution platforms, including CinemaCloudWorks and iScreeningRoom, and is credited with managing more than 50 theatrical releases through Atlas Distribution Company and Family Movie Events. His notable producing credits include the Atlas Shrugged trilogy and the horror classic, Dog Soldiers.

As Vice President of Operations, he leads digital entertainment strategy, campaign execution, and operational alignment across platforms.

With over a decade of experience in content creation and media, Jairo is the founder of MexicanGueys, a multi-platform social entertainment brand rooted in Latino culture. That creator-first background powers his leadership at HighlightStar, where he manages talent, streamlines production, and delivers performance-driven campaigns for global partners including Lionsgate and Amazon Prime.

Bridging creative instinct with operational discipline, Jairo plays a critical role in scaling storytelling, talent development, and brand integration, ensuring HighlightStar’s work is authentic, efficient, and built to perform.

Jonathan Smithers

VP of Music & A&R

Jonathan Smithers leads Music and A&R at HighlightStar, driving the company’s music-led IP and sonic identity across Latin pop, reggaeton, regional Mexican, Latin alternative, hip-hop, rock, and crossover global sounds. A Berklee College of Music scholarship recipient from South Africa who graduated first in his class, he is a globally recognized guitarist, songwriter, producer, and film composer.

Jonathan oversees artist discovery and development while shaping a sync-first music strategyacross film, television, gaming, advertising, and branded content. His work spans high-profile scores, trailers, and genre-defining releases, positioning HighlightStar at the intersection of music, storytelling, and brand integration. Through his leadership, music becomes a scalable engine for culture, distribution, and long-term value across the HighlightStar ecosystem.

Jon founded and led Grip Works, a respected production support company specializing in lighting, rigging, and grip operations with a focus on safety and quality. His career includes work on high-profile projects for artists such as Drake, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Billie Eilish, and Kendrick Lamar.

As founder and face of FabTV, he’s interviewed global icons like Elon Musk and Brad Pitt, leading a team that covers more red carpets than any major network. Fluent in English and Spanish, Fernando’s industry connections and bilingual skills help HighlightStar reach diverse audiences.

His work has appeared at top events like The Oscars and The Grammys, and he’s produced coverage for networks including Estrella TV and Univision. At HighlightStar, Fernando’s creative vision and storytelling expand our impact across the Hispanic/Latino market and beyond.
